Mog Pancakes

I had a sudden craving for pancakes yesterday, so tried googling `pancake` and `Osaka` to see what happened. A lot of cafes have a pancake dish or two on their menu, but waffles (with extravagant toppings - see below) are much more popular.

Imagine my surprise when I opened the first link on google to find this...

Mog is a pancake cafe (パンケーキカフェ) that just opened only a few months ago in Kyobashi, Osaka! And look at some of their amazing creations...

(the kids plate 600yen)

(devils pancakes 1000yen)

(japanese style green tea/azuki pancakes 1250yen)

(mango pancakes 1250yen)

Of course Yoshi and I had to check it out (he had his day off yesterday) and we ate the following...

I had the banana caramel sauce pancakes (1000yen);

And Yoshi had the plain pancakes (a stack of 4) with maple syrup;

They also have some savory pancakes too!

So good!

It is a small cafe with seating for about 30 people. They have table and counter seating and it appeared to be all non-smoking (a rarity in Japan). According to their website, they are closed on Tuesdays and national holidays, and their opening hours are around 11am - 10pm (last order around 9.15pm).

There is also lots of parking nearby (or it is pretty close to Kyobashi station).

  1. Hi Fran!

    Wow! I can imagine how you wanted to eat pancakes from the images. hehe

    I know... waffles are more popular! How lucky you found such a cafe near your place ;)
